How to Make Coffee Cake | Coffee Cake Recipe
Topping Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons Butter, Softened (28g)
- 2 Tablespoons Packed Brown Sugar (24g)
- 2 Tablespoons White Sugar (24g)
- 2 Tablespoons Flour (15g)
- 2 ½ Teaspoons Cinnamon (5g)
- ½ Cup Pecans, Chopped (56g)
Cake Ingredients:
- 1 ½ Cups Flour (180g)
- 1 ½ Teaspoons Baking Powder (7.5g)
- ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda (2.5g)
- 1/8 Teaspoon Salt (0.75g)
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (2g)
- 4 Tablespoons Melted Butter (56g)
- ½ Cup White Sugar (96g)
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar (96g)
- 2 Eggs
- ¾ Cup Sour Cream (180g)
Directions:
- For the topping: In a small bowl, mix together the butter, sugars,
flour, cinnamon, and pecans until well combined and crumbly. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking
soda, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together the melted
butter, sugars, eggs, and sour cream. Gently fold egg mixture into flour
mixture until smooth.
- Prepare an 8 by 8 inch square pan with butter and dust with flour.
Pour the batter into prepared pan, smooth top, and sprinkle with
topping. Gently tap the pan on counter to settle batter. Bake in a
preheated oven at 350F for about 25-30 minutes or until an inserted
toothpick comes out with a few crumbs, rotating pan halfway through
baking.
- Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
