One of the things I love the most about my Mexican heritage is the rich culture that still lives in every generation regardless of whether they were born inside or outside of Mexico. It is a legacy that we still carry within us and that we show to the world with our traditions, language, and cuisine.

I was lucky enough that my great aunt, who passed away last year, thought I should carry on making the same delicious Mexican pastries she used to make herself. She gave me a little book entitled “Reposteria Mexicana” that is filled with many traditional Mexican sweets from various parts of Mexico. I have looked through every recipe from beginning to end and I really can’t wait to try them all. I only hope that what I make comes out just as delicious as my aunt’s. Because this is an important personal project for me, I will be posting some of the recipes on here to share with everyone. I hope everyone enjoys them just as much as I do.

Later today I will be posting the first recipe, “Dulce de Calabaza”, along with a short video tutorial, so stay tuned! 🙂
